Oliva Serie O Cigars
The highly acclaimed Oliva Serie ‘O’ cigar offers a diverse range of robust flavors that are smooth and creamy from start to finish. Oliva grows some of the best Nicaraguan tobaccos in the industry, so it's only expected that they have a Nicaraguan Puro.
Serie O has blended notes of dark tobacco with spice and rich cedar. Full-bodied and full-flavored, they are the best kind of smoke for the Nicaraguan loving cigar aficionado and provides a unique and complex smoking experience. Their medium-bodied spiciness makes these Cuban-based cigars one of the best celebratory stogies.
Light them up to make any evening, big or small, feel like a true celebration. To top it off, they come at a great value, which makes them one of the most affordable Nicaraguan Puros in the market today.

However the cigar that really put Oliva on the map was Oliva Serie V that debuted in 2007. The addition of Oliva Serie V Melanio in 2012 catapulted Oliva to the big leagues when Oliva Serie V Melanio clinched the 2014 Cigar of the Year award. Oliva Serie O also debuted in 2012 and even though it didn’t become the cigar of the year, it got a staggering 94 CA rating the same year (2014).
A Little History
There’s a common storyline in the Serie line of cigars. Most of them including Serie G and Oliva Connecticut were old blends released under a new name. Oliva Serie O is no different. The original Serie O was launched in 2001 under the name Serie O Bold. Aside from the flavour profile, the most outstanding feature was the beautifully embroidered cloth band adorning the stick. Serie O Bold was a full-bodied Nicaraguan Puro draped in a habano wrapper.
In 2004, Serie O Bold was re-blended into a milder offing and renamed Serie O Classic while still retaining the original Serie O Bold. Both began having a paper band and came in natural and maduro wrappers.
When the total rebrand of the Oliva brand happened in 2006 Serie O Classic became Oliva Serie O.
About Oliva Serie O
While today’s Oliva Serie O is similar to Serie O Classic in blend and taste, it’s found its place and identity as a totally different cigar. It’s a decadent, sweet-smelling full-bodied Nicaraguan Puro brandishing premium primings from Jalapa, Condega and Esteli.
Delicate notes of cocoa, cedar, cinnamon, earth, toast, and light pepper are dominant throughout the smoke. Oliva Serie O made Cigar Aficionado’s Top 50 Cigars list with a 92 rating and the following commentary: "The cigar has gorgeous colour and a lush wrapper. It draws well, showing cedar, toast, leather, and coffee notes. A complex and balanced full-bodied cigar."

About Oliva Cigars Co.
Oliva Cigars began in the 1800s with Melanio Oliva, a tobacco grower. After years of growing and selling tobacco, Oliva Cigars finally registered as a company and released their first cigar in 1995. Since then, the formerly family-run company grew substantially in tobacco growing and cigar making. In 2016, Oliva Cigars was acquired by J. Cortes, one of the top makers of machine made cigars in Europe. Now Oliva Cigars is the premium handmade cigars arm of J. Cortes. J. Cortes purchased and upgraded all the farms and factories formerly belonging to Oliva Cigars in a bid to keep up with the growing demand of Oliva Cigars without compromising on quality.
