Goodbye Garcia y Vega |
| I have bought my last box of Garcia y Vega Elegantes. Their quality has been slipping steadily for the past few years & has reached the point where I have just given up.
It starts with the packaging & goes down hill from there.
Out of a box of 50 cigars, more than half have some sort of problem, i.e.:
1. Trouble opening the wrapper.
2. Candela leaf is split or otherwise is a leaker.
3. Cigar is plugged & wont draw properly.
4. 99% of these cigars secrete grasshopper juice & you have to constantly use a tissue to squeeze out this disgusting black crap.
5. Cigars usually do not burn evenly & contain stems or other low quality tobacco parts.
6. A high percentage of these cigars just taste awful. They are bitter & you just have to throw that one away & try another.
Garcia y Vega used to put out a good smoke but they clearly have let their quality control standards slip. They either dont monitor quality or just dont care.
I am switching to Antonio & Cleopatra where I dont have to hold a cigar in one hand & a kleenex tissue in the other. |

Garcia y Vega Elegante Review |
| A cigar within my price range that is not of the quality it once was. While it is still my preference because I have never found another that suits my taste at any price, the quality of each cigar varies greatly. The good ones are good whereas probably 25 to 30 % have problems which range from leakers to ones which are plugged & you cant draw on them properly, to just plain rotten tasting. Garcia y Vega really needs to hire me as their Manager of Quality Control. |
