Why is Herrera Estelí flying off shelves?

History of the Brand Herrera Estelí

Herrera Estelí is considered to be the brainchild of Willy Herrera, the newest member of the Drew Estate team. The presence of Willy at Drew Estate enabled him to convey authentic Cuban influence on the entire team. The Herrera Estelí cigar was initially started as a medium-plus assortment that is remarkably creamy with a balance of sweet and spice.

Willy Herrera introduced Herrera Estelí in 2012 at the IPCPR show after observing the limited amount of cigars launched at special events. Later, in 2013 Herrera Esteli was officially debuted.

The Herrera Esteli cigar by Willy quickly gained prevalence as demand got to an all time high from hungry crowds of perceptive enthusiasts who had been observing from the sidelines since the summer of 2011. Essentially, this was the time when Drew Estate formally announced that Willy Herrera, ultra-boutique cigar crafter would be joining the team.

Willy Herrera had a clear goal: to grow an operation no bigger than the average home’s “family room”, into one of the greatest cigar factories in the US. In year 2014, the brand also presented the Tienda Exclusiva by Willy Herrera, which is a shop-exclusive cigar (for Barrister Cigars) under the Herrera Esteli brand. This, in turn, began a series of limited-run lines that presented twisted versions of the Herrera Esteli blend, ultimately growing into full-time releases in year 2016. A good example is the Herrera Estelí TAA Exclusive.

Ratings

The Herrera Estelí brand has to date gained a well-deserved 94-rating and was even ranked #8 in Top 25 cigars for the year 2014. The panel concluded that this cigar is a medium-bodied smoke with notes of earthy and sweet spice, a long finish, and an smoky profile. Due to the success of Herrera Estelí it's easy to understand why Willy Herrera was endorsed as the Master Blender for all of Herrera Estelí cigar brands.

Why it should be in your humidor

There are many reasons why you should never be without Herrera Estelí Cigars in your humidor. For starters, these cigars feature ant outstanding draw. The first impression is neither too spicy nor too peppery. Next, the smoke output off this skinny smoke is extraordinary. The smoke is smooth, billowy, and creamy fostering an enveloping feel in your mouth.

You will love the balance of flavors and consistency in this Herrera Estelí cigar. In a nutshell,  it is a great looking smoke with lovely natural habano appearance. So the next time you want to kick back and relax with some buddies, try doing so with a Herrera Estelí Cigar.

How its flavor is different than other brands of cigars on the market today?

The flavors of Herrera Estelí Cigars are unique. You can smell leather and grass with implicit nuttiness right off the wrapper. When you clip it and take a cold draw, sugar and cinnamon are the predominant flavors. In fact, it is safe to say the flavor profile is representative of the Cuban cigars of ancient times.

You will lose your mind over the crunchy, clean notes of cedar, spices, cream, and baked nuts which are the base notes, while infrequent hints of white pepper and semi-sweet vanilla zoom in and out all through. Retro-hale is a bona fide blast of spice. In the second and final third, enjoy notes of leather, sugar, cinnamon, and green herbal tea with a little sweet finish. This stogie stays in the medium to full range throughout the smoke.

If you have not tried the Herrera Esteli cigar yet, run to your local brick and mortar today. It is a definite must-have!
