Ashton Cabinet has been referred to as the “White Burgundy” of cigars due to what the official website calls “an obsession with aging.” Made by the Fuente Family for Robert Levin founder of Ashton Cigars, Ashton Cabinet is a conglomeration of Dominican long fillers and binder finished off with a Connecticut Shade wrapper.
Ashton Cabinet: The Blend
Ashton Cabinet embodies a complex blend of six top-grade Dominican long-fillers aged for a minimum of four years. It is then cloaked in a Dominican binder. The wrapper in particular is aged an extra year resulting in an extra creamy flavors and a shimmering chest-nut appearance.
While some sources say Ashton fillers are aged 4-5 years, the entire process of aging from seed to stick takes up to seven years. Dominant flavors include velvety creaminess, almonds, a little spice with cedary undertones, roasted coffee bean, buttery toast, nutty sweetness, white pepper, vanilla bean, hay, and cocoa.
Ashton Cabinet has received a 90+ Cigar Aficionado rating three times since its debut including a recent 91 rating in 2019.

After inheriting Holt’s Cigar Company from his father in the 1970s he went on to purchase Harry Tint $ Sons, an upscale cigar store and the main importers of Cuban Cigars in Philadelphia before the embargo. Holt’s Cigar Company grew as a cigar store and a catalogue business; meanwhile Robert Levin launched Ashton Cigars in 1985. The first Ashton Cigar was made by Henke Kelner of Tabadom but later Robert Levin made the move to the Fuente’s and re-released a re-blended Ashton Cigar which is now known as the Ashton Classic. Other iconic Ashton releases include Ashton Aged Maduro, Ashton VSG, and Ashton Symmetry among others.
