Bella Artes translates to “fine arts”, and the Bella Artes by AJ Fernandez is exactly that in the world of cigars. This beauty is handmade in the famed Nicaraguan Tabacalera Fernandez factory and consists of a unique and complex blend of fillers from three countries, each aged for three years.
The Nicaraguan blend hails from the Jalapa, Esteli and Condega regions and is blended with viso leaves from Brazil that are high in nicotine and sweetness, and additionally tobacco from Honduras. The Havana ‘92 binder hails from the luscious Quilali region of Nicaragua.
The real star of this brand is the hybrid wrapper that has been dubbed the “Rojita” by Mr. Fernandez. The silky-smooth wrapper is an incredible blend of three strains of tobacco- 25% Corojo ’99, 25% Havana 2000, and 50% Connecticut 8212. The result is a beautifully constructed, complex masterpiece. The Bella Artes by AJ Fernandez cigars are slightly box pressed and available in Short Churchill, Robusto, Toro, and Gordo sized sticks.
