For the JC Newman family every cigar is a testament to a family heritage devoted to producing some of the finest cigars in the world. Their latest release, the Perla Del Mar Perla "G", is no exception. This exclusive line was brought back to life by Eric Newman, fourth generation president of the JC Newman Cigar Company. The Perla del Mar line grew out of Eric's interest in cigar art. While travelling in Cuba he discovered a vintage Cuban band with the Perla Del Mar name and a black and white scene of Havana harbor. Impressed by the attention to detail in the artwork that adorned this band, he decided to resurrect this forgotten Cuban cigar. The seeds of the tobacco are used in the Perla del Mar Perla “G” originate from the rich fertile soil of Cuba. Years ago, when Cuban exporters needed to pack more cigars in each box, they started packing cigars so tightly that the pressure altered the shape of the cigars.
The Perla Del Mar Perla "G" has a distinctive "square" shape. There are only a handful of cigars on the market today that use this throwback shape. These box pressed cigars burn longer and have a robust taste compared to their "round" counterparts. Perla Del Mar Cigars are artfully crafted at the Fabrica de Tabacos San Rafael SA factory in Esteli, Nicaragua; the same factory that produces highly rated Brick House, Diamond Crown, and El Baton Cigars. This line features a silky smooth Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper that surrounds Nicaraguan filler and a binder from 4 distinct Nicaraguan regions – Pueblo Nuevo, La Reine, Condega, and Jalapa.
The Perla Del Mar Cigar is a medium bodied, perfectly constructed stick with a cool draw, an ideal burn, and a firm ash. Smoking the Perla Del Mar Perla "G" releases rich and complex flavor profile including notes of creamy caramel, coffee beans, spice, a mix of citrus, and woodiness in the background. At only $4.14 a stick for this exceptional Nicaraguan masterpiece, you’ll be thinking this is the Perla de Humidor – the Pearl of your Humidor! This exclusive cigar measures 6 1/4 inches and has a ring gauge of 54. It is encased in a vintage dark cherry box housing 25 premium sticks. Don’t miss the opportunity to smoke a tradition that has been four generations in the making.
