About Ashton Cigars
Ashton Cigars is the brainchild of Robert Levin founded in 1985. Robert Levin is the second generation owner of Holt’s Cigar Company. After inheriting the cigar retail and catalogue business from his father, Albert Levin, Robert Levin did what came naturally to him and grew the company. Afterwards, Robert Levin decided to delve into the cigar making industry. His motivation was to create a cigar that he would enjoy smoking. The first Ashton cigar was blended in ‘83/’84 and released in 1985. It was made in Tabacos Dominicanos by Henke Kelner way before he began the Davidoffs.
Later, thanks to a long term friendship with the Fuente Family, Robert Levin shifted the production of Ashton cigars to the Fuente factory in the Dominican Republic. After being in the market for over 35 years, there have been less than 10 Ashton cigar lines released. This is because the makers of Ashton Cigars are truly obsessed with aging and are never in a rush. As a result, every Ashton cigar line is heavily awarded due to the quality and consistency of the blend.
Aside from Ashton Aged Maduro, there are other wildly popular cigars under the Ashton brand including Ashton Classic, Ashton VSG, Ashton Cabinet, and Ashton Esquire just to mention a few.
